Frequently Asked Questions2022-06-03T11:06:46-04:00
Is it Friction Weld?2022-06-03T11:05:50-04:00

No. Nothing like friction. There is no fusion line. The profile is smooth. Note – friction grain flow is 90 degrees. Grain flow of solid-state is laminar, and smooth.

Do you know how hard it is to change welding codes?2022-06-03T11:01:01-04:00

If it is easy, we’ll be buying this new quality from offshore companies. This singular solid state weld is already classified under ASME IX Code Case.

If this is so good, how come I never heard of this?!2022-06-15T13:42:12-04:00

This technique is used in automotive axles for over a decade. Federal Mogul / Tenneco won the 2016 Pace Award for joining diesel cylinder heads using solid-state. Note: one cylinder is spun on with curls, the other joined using solid-state with smooth profile.

FuseRing is limited only to pipeline?2022-06-23T10:07:38-04:00

Patents 1 & 2, the original aim was to help improve pipeline weld integrity. Further patents published and pending open new branches of manufacturing. Solid-state can be applied from tubular to flat geometry.

Can we see the process?2023-08-02T14:32:43-04:00

FuseRing is cooperating with Sorsys Technologies to build demo equipment. We expect sample welds in late 2022 to late 2023.
